I had a lot of fun exploring the capabilities of the Midjourney Artificial Intelligence text-to-image software recently when it comes to generating images of some of my favorite cars. Midjourney's creative community has daily themes and last weekend's was "Vantablack". Vantablack for anyone who doesn't know is an artificially created paint that absorbs ~98% of light that comes in contact with it. I remember in 2014 BMW released a one of a kind Vantablack painted model X6 and I wanted to visualize other cars with the same awesome black silhouette.
It took some time to really hone in on what created the best moody environments I wanted to see these cars in. What worked best for me was a text prompt like this...
"/imagine A Vantablack painted (Car make, model, and year) at night in (location ie: parking lot/the street/the forest), headlights piercing fog, condensation, hyper realism, volumetric fog, volumetric lighting, Octane renderer, 8K, --v 4"
Ultimately, I think one of Midjourney's greatest capabilities is ideation and conceptualization of ideas. It's amazing to me that we're able to see something just by being able to describe it well to an artificially intelligent software.
